The three strongest direct-fit federal grants for Mission: Reset, verified as of July 31, 2026. Each one is currently active or recurring on a predictable cycle.
How Mission: Reset fits. Best direct-fit federal program identified for police departments. Start-up track designed for agencies without existing wellness programs. ideal for launching Mission: Reset as flagship wellness activity. Enhanced track suits agencies expanding existing programs.
How Mission: Reset fits. Strong fit for training/workshop components. IAFF has a documented, successful template for using AFG to fund Peer Support Training curriculum. Retreat lodging/meal costs likely ineligible (food, saunas, ice baths, incentives explicitly excluded); training and consulting fee components should be the funding ask.
How Mission: Reset fits. Explicitly names emergency responders (paramedics, firefighters, EMTs) and law enforcement as required training populations. directly funds the training/workshop component of Mission: Reset. Strongest statewide match: covers fire/police/EMS/911 dispatch, funded specifically for first-responder behavioral health, with a required 'Embedded Wellness Support' category that a weekend MRT + breathwork retreat could satisfy as programming content.
Best-worded program match found nationally — statute explicitly funds 'wellness events, conferences, and retreats.' Restricted to City of Chicago as sole eligible grantee; Mission: Reset would need a vendor/contractor relationship with the City's CFRW administrator.

Three ways real Mission: Reset programs get funded across our service region and beyond. Shorter timelines than federal awards, and often less competitive.
Every state in our service region has allocated opioid settlement dollars to first responder wellness and secondary trauma support. The money flows through counties, not a single statewide competitive grant. Contact your county Health & Human Services or Emergency Management office to ask about their allocation.
